He shifted suddenly and came to his knees. His angular jaw set, his dark eyes glowing with reflected firelight, he reached out to her with both hands, taking both sides of her face together. She pushed herself up to her knees, mirroring him, and let him pull her face closer, closer, closer. When his lips brushed hers in a first tentative touch, a shiver ran through her. Strength flowed from his hands and his lips as he pulled her nearer, and the kiss became more insistent, more demanding. All the frustration of the past months flowed out of her, and her soft mouth opened for him, admitting the hot invasion of his tongue. They mingled, reluctance long faded, and intertwined their senses, vision and sound diminishing in favour of smell and taste and touch. For long minutes they stayed locked together, until finally Ylana's breathing came fast and hard, and she had to give herself air. With a tinge of regret, she pulled back, breath coming in sobs, her heart in her throat, staring hard into his eyes. He stared back, almost unblinking, drinking her with the insatiable desire of his whole being.

Without warning, he pulled her to him, squeezing the air out of her body, claiming her with his powerful arms, mashing her breasts against him. The soft earth cradled their knees, so that their embrace became total, without discomfort. Crushing her to him, he claimed her mouth once again, this time with no hint of hesitation, brooking no resistance. She melted in his arms, thinking, He knows, he knows ... and aware that she would do his bidding, without regret and without pangs of conscience.
